Upcoming Event...

11/13/2019

We often forget the point of the Holiday Season by over committing ourselves to what society has deemed "the right way" to celebrate. We lose sight of our self-care and turn into Grinches. I found myself feeling Grinchiness already set in and it's not even Thanksgiving. Right there in the name of the holiday is the point of this time of year, Thanks and Giving. It really couldn't be anymore simple, anymore obvious...

So in honor of honoring myself and you, of giving thanks to those around me who have given me so much, I've decided to host a Holiday Open House on Dec 21st. Below are the details, don't forget to RSVP to taking time to be joyous and chill.

Carol Ann Bio

Carol Ann has been practicing yoga for over 17 years. Her journey began with chronic lower back pain. For years her practice was purely physical, and while she enjoyed and continued her practice she felt something missing; the spiritual connection. It wasn't until she suffered a trauma in her life that the missing element would surface. "I finally got it. While on my mat I found I could accept the suffering and find peace through the connection of body and breath. Yoga became a prayerful moving meditation, an inward journey that brought stilling calm to my spirit, a sacred space." The path to certification was a calling. Carol Ann completed training May 28, 2016 through Life Power Yoga. Her passion is for students to discover a body, breath, spirit connection in yoga that will take them beyond the mat into their daily lives. "I want students to understand that yoga transcends our suffering and we can cultivate peace within ourselves in any
difficulty." “Yoga allows you to find an inner peace that is not ruffled and riled by the endless stresses and struggles of life.” ― B.K.S. Iyengar

We offer a once a month Whole Family Yoga class that focuses on practicing together. For the month of March we'll be moving it to the 3rd Saturday instead of the 2nd, due to a scheduling conflict. Be sure to bring the kiddos and check it out on Saturday March 16th from 2:30 to 3:15.

How yoga can benefit kids and you too:
  • Develop awareness of the body and the breath
  • Learn how to use their bodies in a healthy way
  • Manage stress through breathing, awareness, meditation and healthy movement
  • Build concentration
  • Increase their confidence and positive self-image

The New Moon is upon us...

12/6/2018

This monthly class will follow the New Moon. This month it aligns with our weekly Heated Candlelight Yoga to help deepen our practice and our connection to self and with community. New Moon Yoga consists of 30 minutes of movement, 30 minutes of meditation, and 30 minutes of introspection and connection.

The New Moon is a time to let go and start anew. A chance to glance within and reconnect to our deepest desires. In this monthly class we'll flow through a yoga sequence that reflects our intention for the evening, spend time in guided meditation, and look within to journal and have conversation in community.

Please bring a notebook or journal as well as something to write with to class.

Great Gratitude...

11/12/2018

The seasons have shifted. We've entered the dark of the year. This is a time for searching within and showing our love for all humankind, a time for digging deep and sharing our gratitude. What are you grateful for this year? What has come into your life or left your life that has given you perspective? What has brought you joy or sorrow? What lessons have you learned in 2018? Where can you extend gratitude in your world?

For me, I'm grateful for the journey that has brought me home to Carmi. I'm in deep worship of the support and love you've all brought into my world by supporting this little yoga studio. I'm thankful for the ups and downs that brought me to this place in my life. If it weren't for the struggles I faced at the beginning of 2018, I wouldn't have made it to the sweet space I'm in today. Each obstacle along the way was a stepping stone on my journey back to my center, back to my peace, back to my home. I'm grateful that you've all joined for this part of my path.

Please join me here at Wild Thing Yoga & Boutique for our Gratitude Practice on Thanksgiving Day from 9 am to 10:30 am to delve deeper into your own story. To dig deep into your center and share your gratitude for all that 2018 has given and taken. I hope to see you on your mat.
